Sustainable land use as panacea for efficient households’ trips in Osun State Nigeria

An underlying factor with the problems of trip making in urban areas is related to land use potentials and condition its transport system. The pattern any settlement basis for physical planning, especially rapidly growing cities. This study examines households’ selected cities Osun State, Nigeria. Data were obtained uses. also randomly from 2,134 households examine their pattern. Descriptive statistics was used analyse pattern, while correlation analysis relationship between Findings revealed that all studied possessed characteristics mixed use. shows 57.15% residential non-residential accounted 42.85%. Further, made an average 27 trips per week travelled 10.65kilometres day Results indicated there low positive frequency (r = 0.302) as well distance travel 0.222). coefficient (r) 0.613 0.559, strong traveled by household. recommends holistic planning reduce future may lead into a chaotic situation.
